The usual image that comes to mind when I think of someone reading poetry is one of stillness and quiet—usually a solitary figure, seated under an oak tree or nestled in wild flowers on a sunny day with the occasion cloud drifting by. So entranced and connected to the words that fill the page that a gentle, serene smile lingers on their face and the world around them disappears... Or experience poetry another way—your way. Since April is National Poetry Month, celebrate it, read it, write it, and experience it on your own or with others. Why not join us at the library on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30pm when we host the Village Poets. Mary Gillim, Donna Monday, Bruce Brush and Miriam Nidiffer will help us celebrate Poetry Month with a poetry reading. Who knows, you may be inspired to write your own!
