Books To Go

Do you know a senior citizen who lives at home and loves to read or listen to CDs, but can’t visit the library because of advancing age or poor health? If so, please tell him or her about Books To Go—the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library’s service to the homebound.

It’s simple, really. We ask our homebound customers what they like to read. And then each month, they receive a green bag brimming with a 4-week supply of hand-picked library goodies (books and CDs), delivered right to their door. (Think pizza delivery, only better!!)

For more information, or to find out if someone you know qualifies, just call Teen & Adult Services at 873-3149, ext. 12400.

Is there a page on the library's website where library members can sign up for this service?

  2. Good question! Actually, we want seniors (or their caregivers) who are interested in Books To Go to CALL us at 873-3149, ext. 12400. (Ask for me--Barbara.) That way I can talk to you personally about eligibility, reading preferences, etc. Or stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor and pick up a brochure.
